Q. Why did I have a problem using the Autel MD808 scan tool directly from the box?
Ans. This is because it comes with USB version 1.0. With this USB, the gadget won’t be able to function properly. So, you will have to register the device with Autel and then update the USB version. After registering, the update will be free like other Autel OBD2 tool models, and you will start using the gadget without any problem.

Q. What procedure should I follow to easily use this device to perform different functions?
Ans. Being a plug-and-play scan tool, you will have an easy time reading and erasing error codes. But you need to be aware of the following details before plugging the device in the OBD2 port. The country of manufacturer, the brand of the car, and the destination of the car. With these details, you will have an easy and fast diagnosis of the faults in your car.

  1. Disappointed that the device does not have a VF 2015 Commodore model listed in it,s selection process. It only goes up to 2013, which is a joke. I have sent an Email to customer service at AUTEL to explain why this is. I am currently waiting for a reply and will post the result on this page. Wish me luck!

  2. I bought this scanner to use with my Isuzu D Max 2017 because it clearly says all vehicles 1996 and newer…….but guess what……my vehicle is not included…!! i was told 3 or 4 months ago the update is coming ,still nothing .Complete waste of money for me and told that once its registered you cant return it, but you have to register it to use it ???
